Although, this is probably because the bottle has some age on it. Slightly darker color with better head. More enjoyable than the later version, but still a long way from the best IPA i’ve had. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 8, 2008 12 oz. Clear, orange-copper with a thick creamy head that lasts forever. Aroma of earthy honey, orange, and slight resin. Flavor is a complex mixture of tea leaf, sweet orange, resin, earthy nut and cocoa, dried wood and green herbs. Light-medium body is soft, smooth, slightly dry, and highly drinkable. Vastly underrated and a shame it’s retired. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2008 bottle. small tan fizzy head (quickly and almost fully dissapating) head into murky bronze body. pretty decent lacing. aroma is moderate citrus hops and moderate caramel...something else there that I can’t decipher. flavor is bitter throughout. flat carbonation. long finish duration. dry texture. not a bad IPA. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2008 Bottle. 4,7 ABV. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, hop. Flavour is the same. Nice beer. yngwie (4918), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 1, 2008 Bottle. (4.7% ABV) It pours an orange-golden, clear body with an off-white head. The aroma is sure on the hoppy side, with citrus and pine-cones doing most of the job. The flavor continues in the same way, with a long, hoppy finish. Medium body, almost astringent in the mouth, due to the bitterness. Really quaffable, quite low alcohol IPA. Rating: 7-4-7-3-15-3.6. (080314)
Bottle. (4.7% ABV) It pours a slightly hazy, orange-golden body with a small, off-white head on top. Lovely malty, beef-stocky nose, but the most evident aromas are citrus and pine cones. Full-bodied, with lots of pine cones and citrus, on a malty, sweet, beef-stocky, lightly caramelly background. It finishes fruity, citrusy and bitter, lasting for a good while. A pity they retired this one, it could sure be my every-day beer. If it was available in Norway of course. Delicious. (080501) ketchepillar (478), Viña del Mar, Chile
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2008 This beer is surprisingly hoppy. In fact, the a bit too much hops, well, too rough of hops. Piny/Floral. Not much malt to balance this one out. Long lasting bitter finish.
