Nose is a floral hoppiness, as well as some citrus hops, mostly grapefruit. THe taste is all about the hops. I do detect the caramel malts way underneath, but it starts out grapefruit hoppy and ends grapefruit hoppy with a bittersweet finish. Light body, high carbonation. Not very complex and not very bitter. .An average IPA. GG (1624), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 1, 2006 I think the label and this beer have a lot in common. You have to be on some serious drugs to enjoy either. The aroma, IMO, of an IPA should be a balance between hops and malt. I got zero malt but a helping dose of grapefruity hops. Appearance was a nice colored, light amber with a good head. Mouthfeel was a bit astringent and much too light-bodied for my liking, but it still wasn’t that bad. Flavor had a one-dimensional hop profile of grapefruit and again, very poorly balanced with barely and malts there. You can find many better IPA’s out there and this brewery deserves this question. Does a label this horrendous affect wether you enjoy the beer, because these labels just simply blow. The beer itself, IMHO, should speak for itself. But these labels suck. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 23, 2006 This IPA poured a golden yellow colour with a nice off white head. Scents include citrus and lots of it, bread and eggs? First taste was very floral with hops and a little bitter. Actually very hoppy. Finish has a orange citrus taste with a bitter palate at the end. This seems to be at the other end of the hop spectrum compared to other raters. This one was very hoppy. AR (423), Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 22, 2006 Not very strong hoppiness. Smoth and easy drinking. Not what I would grab when looking for an IPA, but it is a nice beer more like a pale ale. JonnyC22 (164), Huntsville, Alabama, USA
