IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Nov 2, 2006 Bottle from Erader Joes; Nose is hoppy and citrusy; dark gold with a big long-lasting pale golden head; flavor has some citrus, malt, and hops which fades into a big hop finish, but not overly bitter. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Nov 1, 2006 Bottle 48F Shaker. Smells very nice, plenty of hops but none are overly prevalent. Nice golden color with a frothy white head. Sweet light malts at first followed by nice bitter hops,Grapefruit, light malt, nicely bitter. Good taste very much like an IPA, not as big in hops as some IPAs. Light mouth feel, light carbonation finishes crisp. Pretty tasty a good IPA but not an IPA that stands out. pintocb (505), Darsville, Georgia, USA Oct 28, 2006 Wow. A dissapointment. I love IPA’s, but this one is just out of balance. It had a strong flavor, but it was too much of the wrong kind of bitter for me. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Oct 24, 2006 Bottle. Clear amber/light orange with a thin foamy head. Grapefruit hop aroma. Flavor of resiny and citrus hops and tea, slightly astringent, with some light malt. Palate thin to medium. A good example of an IPA which showcases a mellow hop profile on a mellow malt palate to get the desired balance. LagerLove (65), Clinton, Missouri, USA Oct 22, 2006 A rather strong tasting ale, but almost too bitter, needs a bit of fruitiness to liven it up. bhensonb (4180), Woodland, California, USA Oct 21, 2006 Strong piney hop aroma. Maybe grapefurit. Pale amber orange color. De minimis head. Starts with hop, and then a really floral aroma arises, and the hop turns strong! Pickles the tongue. Don’t know why it’s not a top 10, but I’ve only had one of those, so that’s maybe why I don’t know. It is really good stuff. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Oct 20, 2006 Draught at Old Chicago in Coralville, IA. Clear light orange color with two fingers of foamy of white head that laced the glass. Sprucy, flowery hop aroma and flavor. There is also a hint of grape candy and malty toffee. Hop bitterness is lacking a bit. goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Oct 20, 2006 Draft @ Flying Dog: Hazy orange-amber color with an off-white head. Big hoppy aroma with citrus and piney notes. Some sweet malt shows through underneath. Citrusy and piney flavor with enough malt to back it up. Not too bad. Tasted pretty fresh on the hop side.
