tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway Apr 5, 2008 355 ml bottle. Shared with my neighbour Kjetil. Amber color, nice off-white head. Aroma is hoppy. Flavor is hops and fruit, sweet malt. Nice, but a bit thin - due to the low alcohol, I guess. Oxymoron (104), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Apr 4, 2008 A barking snake? Pours an light amber color that is a little lighter then what I consider an IPA. Some orange hues and a filtered clear tinge. There is a white frothy head but quickly disappears. Some limited lacing but also doesn’t last long. The hop aroma is strong and defiantly barks Cascades. Some sweetness in the nose but really of one flavor and not much extra. Not much with malt backing but what you can determine is mostly basic malts with a hint a caramel. The flavor is strong with a nice hop presence. Some light citrus taste that is more of a grapefruit then say grassy. Some taste of what I best describe as soapy that leaves an almost oily taste is noticeable. Not sure if from hops but it’s felt and more pronounced at the end of the taste. The malt is good and backs up some of the hop presence but is pretty basic in taste. The carbonation is relatively high for style but noting extreme. Not bad, but a little pasty for me. SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy Apr 4, 2008 Draught: Poured a copper with off white head. Aroma is hops. The taste is bitter hops that liven up the tongue. ShawnMalloy (119), Auburn, Massachusetts, USA Apr 3, 2008 Pours a pinkish orange with a light foam white head. Great aroma of sweet hops. Notes of grapefruit and other fruits. Somewhat bitter at the finish and after. A solid IPA. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 3, 2008 Amber with a thick white head. Hoppy and flowery notes. Lots of hops, fruit and bitter taste. Medium body with a long bitter aftertaste. garretjax (103), Colorado, USA Mar 30, 2008 Brassy clear copper color with a rocky white head. Soft floral hops and hidden malt aromas. Medium bodied and a bit high in the carbonation area. All hops flavors, from the intial floral fruit taste to the steely bitterness at the end. A little too bitter. With that, the finish lingers with that bitterness flavor. naivepegasus (183), USA Mar 29, 2008 Pours a dark orange with about two fingers of off-white head. Strong odor of sweet floral hops. There’s a moderately thin mouth feel, and a surprisingly subdued flavor. Its slightly sweet, and ends with a hoppy bitter aftertaste. It’s not bad, but there are much more distinctive IPAs out there. natejgood (189), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 28, 2008 Pours a clear amber with very little white head. The aroma is fruit, hoppy, with some flowers mixed in. This beer’s flavor doesn’t have much kick for an IPA. The hop flavor is pretty subdued, and the remaining flavors is thin and a little sweet. It’s not bad, but I would like more flavor.
