| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 1, 2005 Updated: Apr 2, 20052004 bottle consumed 3/31/05. Yellow-amber body is horribly clear with a good-sized white head, moderate to low retention. Aroma of fruit juice, apples, peaches, pears, lightly resinous hops, by no means very bitter, with a bit of a dry papery feel to it. Some faint toastiness and bread from the malt. Flavor has the good fruitiness going for it, with a true enough hops flavor, but it’s so clean, hard and American-feeling (in a bad way) that I can’t get excited about it. Boring mouthfeel, almost gets syrupy and reminds me of the liquid that comes with a can of peaches. Tastes pasteurized. gnoff (3573), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 18, 2007 (355 ml bottle at Karlson’s Garage & Bar, Göteborg) Labeled 4.7% ABV, which seems very very low for an IPA. Clear golden color, big fluffy orange head. Sweet and citrucy hoppy scent. Also vanilla and milk, blood-oranges smell. Very bitter taste, no way it’s only 36 IBU! Grape aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, big bitterness. Dickinsonbeer (3496), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 17, 2004 Light copper color with a slight head but it stays pretty long. Aroma and flavor are first dominated by a sweet malt, but after a while a little bit of the hops show through. Smooth soft mouthfeel with a good finish. Not a great IPA by any means however. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2007 (Bottle) Purchased by Oakes at Brewery Creek in Vancouver. Pours a thin, white, cloudy head with a clear, lightly carbonated deep golden body. Nose of great pine - and as sk8viking mentions - grape, the fake corner store soda kind. Flavour is very floral and piney. Well balanced with malt. This is very enjoyable. FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 10, 2007 355ml bottle at 4.7% ABV (for Finnish alcohol tax reasons presumably).
Floral, citrus and light fruits aroma - the US IPA fingerprint. Taste is similarly typical of the modern US bastardisation of the IPA style. Unsubtle bitterness, fairly metallic, and not well-cordinated with the otherwise fairly pleasant maltiness. Unsophisticated and not a good example of an IPA. For that, skip this, and hit the classic instead.
