| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Appearance: Pours out an exceptionally bright, clear orange-gold color. The head, though frothy and hearty at first, soon dissipates to a thin, fizzy cap of bubbles.
Smell: A rather lively, energized scent of citrus hops, wildflowers, and a trace of malt.
Taste: A brief hoppy citrus zing followed by a languid malt flavor and a metallic twang. Finish is dry and notably herbaceous. All in all, a rather unexceptional example of an IPA. The smell was misleading.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, though there’s a slight oily slickness. Standard carbonation.
Drinkability: Not one of my preferred IPA’s. This beer’s just not nearly as assertive as I’d like it to be. 1FastSTi (2580), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 24, 2005 Thanks Dave! The aroma is very grassy/weedy like I’m walking though a pasture. Dandelions and weeds. The body appears to glow and has a nice creamy white head and excellent spotty lacing. The palate has a light chalkiness to it. Nate (2558), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Bottle courtesy of dpjuart. Decent little hoppy nose to this one. Resin and grapefruit oil, quite bitter and woody, with a mild papery smell. Golden amber clear, wtih thin off-white lacing head. Medium to light body, watery, with light carbonation. Soft. Starts with a bit of malt sweetness, fruity with grapefruit and apricot. Predominantly, it’s quite bitter, with resin and woodiness in there from start to finish. Medium to heavy bitter finish, with light fruity undertones. Mild sugar taste. OK. Bockyhorsey (2552), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 3, 2005 This IPA had a malty aroma instead of the floral or forest aromas I ususally detect. Darker golen color with good carbination and lacing left on the glass. Cool and crisp like most hop driven IPA’s. Good belch at the end. Good Stuff. dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 6, 2005 Orange-yellow. This IPA is near the bottom of its class, mainly, because despite having a hopply flavor, it has a rather bad, wheaty finish. Still decent though. pivo (2537), Germany
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 22, 2002 A strong hoppy nose with hints of flowers. The citrusy, fruity
taste is coupled with a predominant bitterness, but not balanced.
The dry hopping (I’m guessing) makes this dry and martini-like.
I got a cardboard finish unfortunately. It did get better as it
went along, but overall nothing extraordinary here. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 19, 2003 Good orange tint to a golden colour with a dense airy head. Hoppy smell throughout. Thin-bodied and weak flavour. Decent initial taste, but it fades away quickly and left is a malty tate with a little hops. Not a great beer, but definately not the worst IPA! | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 15, 2005 Copper-amber colour. Aroma has the same iced tea character as their Doggie Style Pale Ale, with some additional grapefruit notes. Flavour holds lots of nice elements - citric hops, sugary malt, the aforementioned iced tea notes - but it just doesn’t seem to hold together well. Better than average, but not by much.
