| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2004 Beautiful orange color, and a nice, but swiftly receing head. Aroma is terrifically fruity: apricot, peach, tangerine, citrus. This is my first time drinking this in at least a year, and something tastes different, for I don’t recall the aroma being quite so vivid.
The label used to read :"Snakes down your throat like a loyal friend", a quote attributed to Anna Steadman, the illustrator’s wife?, but the slogan is missing now. It remains a true endorsement, however. Hoppy, but not wildly so . Wonderfully soft and delicious palate. At times, I’m reminded of Anchor Liberty, but it’s closer to Bass in smoothness and drinkability. Much less hoppy than many a MidWestern IPA. Ideal as a session beer.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 20, 2007 Light coppery body with compact but lasting head. Pleasant hop aroma which carries well through to the taste, a good IPA but not outstanding. DYCSoccer17 (2200), Davis, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 15, 2003 Pours a transparent copper with a 1cm white head that has very small bubbles. Quickly dissipating with mild lacing. Nose is obviously hoppy. Start is a roasted hoppiness with a touch of lemon sweetness in there as well. Finish is dry, like an IPA. A good IPA. willblake (2186), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2006 02.03.06 12oz bottle. The usual IPA color, it’s a coppery amber with small but lasting khaki head that leaves a trace of webby lace. Nice aroma of toasty cracker and grapefruit pith, chinooks are prominent, but with a background note of a dirty earthiness that, while potentially very nice, seems off somehow, kind of grassy in an oniony way. Odd. But that’s easy enough to look past and the citrus and floral notes are very nice. Like some of the other Flying Dog beers, this one falls short in the flavor department after a decent aromatic introduction. It’s pretty bland but with some late citrus pith and a lingering sticky hop finish. Slight diacetyl lingers as well, especially with temp. Despite a few nagging low points, I think I could do worse than to have this in my glass. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 7, 2003 Updated: Aug 13, 2003Large, sudsy head and dark golden color. Well-carbonated and a considerable amount of floating particulates. Peppery hop aroma plus some malt and fruits. Flavor is initially rather floral but not very hoppy relative to many IPAs, but then it sort of sticks to your tongue and just sits there. An average IPA.
