| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2008 12oz bottle. Aroma of cedar, light grapefruit, grassy and slightly earthy hops. Pours full amber with a creamy off white head with decent retention. Bitter on the tongue. Toasted malt, plenty of dry, grassy hops, a hint of bitter orange zest. Medium bodied. Quite firm on the palate with good carbonation. Better than I expected. brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 13, 2004 soft amber color, a sort of bread and yeast aroma with a hint of hoptaste was more malty than hop, more like an English pale ale, seems to be an ok balance but not hoppy enough for my tastes. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 1, 2006 Bottle. Crisp but not harsh with a floral, hoppy aroma. This IPA is quite simple. Pale malt, hops, dry hops, no frills at all. Honey textured palate with a comfortably bitter finish. Thus we have a clean, drinkable, refreshingly bitter and and flavorful brew that is hardly challenging...perfect to drink after, say, a difficult night at work, etc. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Stemmy reefer hops in the aroma.
Soapy green hop taste. Bright, fruity hints. Lemon.

The taste wasn’t quite what I expected from the nose, but the bitterness was still nice and complimented the citrus flavor pretty well. Some maltiness toward the end. The best from Flying Dog that I’ve had so far! igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
