Lacing looks good as well. Aroma is hoppy, but rather in a restrained fashion. Flavor is again hoppy, but not the slap you in the face fashion I look for in my IPAs. Bit of malt sweetness in the package to balance things out. Just not enough hops to do the trick :{ guzzler67 (1289), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2004 Rich amber appearance. Resinous, citrusy aroma. Fairly well balanced with a nod to the drier, hoppier side. Light-to-medium body. Clean, slightly fruity finish. jrob21 (1283), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2006 Smells of caramel and apple. Taste is mostly bitter and I’m not enjoying that. Slightly malty. Medium bodied and finish. Average IPA with nothing exceptional to write home about. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2002 Above average IPA. Hops go more toward piney end of the spectrum. Clean malt flavor, just slight bit of residual sweetness. Hops dry the finish. Pretty decent. JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2006 I’m surprised the ratings aren’t better. Looks great, rich golden color, creamy head from the cask, and wonderful lacing up and down the glass. Wonderful bitterness, beyond traditional Britsh IPA, with strong citrus, pine hoppy bitterness and a long bitter finish. Great creamy mouth feel, typical of a good draft ale. Truly enjoyable balance of sweet malt and bitterness.
