| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Updated: Sep 28, 2009Bottle. A light amber coloured beer with a thin off-white coloured head. The aroma has great piney hops. Grapefruit bitterness in the nose draws you in, and makes you long for the taste. The taste is also nicely hoppy. There is asuprising sweetness though. Long finish. Sometimes a hoppy beer is just what the doctor ordered so this went down a treat, but in truth it’s only an average IPA.Score 3.6 Subsequent rating also scored 3.6. leaparsons (4748), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 19, 2004 This isn't one of my top tier IPAs, but I enjoy it nonetheless. It isn't as hoppy as I prefer, but it is very smooth and crisp. The Flying Dog beers seem to use super pure water, because they all finish exceptionally well. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 25, 2007 Deep gold/light amber beer with a bubbly off-white head. Chinook is strong in the aroma with delicious pine and tobacco, and also some roses noted. Hops are in charge of the flavour too - there is just enough malt to balance the bitterness, it never gets sweet in any way. Bitterness and hop flavour is noticed from the first impression to the lasting aftertaste. That’s my kind of IPA. Lubiere (4548), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Golden ale, with absolutely no hops in aroma, more malty. Malty and lactic, not too much to write home about. Ernest (4499), Boulder, Colorado, USA
