Very enjoyable, hoppy and drinkable. HighlanderOne (542), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA

Hops in flavor are dominant, but mellow. Other plant -y flavors as well. Lacing. Creamy mouthfeel. Very nice beer. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA

Very hoppy, with a citrus hint to it. A fine job once again by those goddam flying dogs. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

2003-12-17, bottle, 8-5-7-4-15=39 Light amber color, creamy head. Strong aroma, hoppy, strong hop flowers, mango, apricots, caramel. Smooth, malt and caramel, hoppy fruitness, well mixed with the others. Very good hop fruity final, but shorter than usual. Finally, a good and easy to drink IPA, less aggressive than many others. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 30, 2005 Strong and present hops as a good IPA should have. Smooth aftertaste. Very drinkable nothing that special; about what I would expect to get from an IPA ordered from a random brew pub. Foxbush (458), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Great balance and fullness. I wish I had a six pack. The head faded fast and the color was rich copper. EKGoldings (447), Radford, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 27, 2003 Bottle, no best before date. Pours amber with moderate smell of pine and caramel, modest head. I really liked the hopping in this one, with chinook coming on strong with resiny-piney character and goldings in the background. A different mix compared to most IPAs (Americans with cascades, Brits with fuggles and goldings) but it really worked for me. Malt character was there but not too concentrated. All in all a rather light tasting IPA but one with nice balance and unique hopping. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2004 Beautiful orange color, and a nice, but swiftly receing head. Aroma is terrifically fruity: apricot, peach, tangerine, citrus. This is my first time drinking this in at least a year, and something tastes different, for I don’t recall the aroma being quite so vivid.
The label used to read :"Snakes down your throat like a loyal friend", a quote attributed to Anna Steadman, the illustrator’s wife?, but the slogan is missing now. It remains a true endorsement, however. Hoppy, but not wildly so . Wonderfully soft and delicious palate. At times, I’m reminded of Anchor Liberty, but it’s closer to Bass in smoothness and drinkability. Much less hoppy than many a MidWestern IPA. Ideal as a session beer.
