Sep 15, 2007 Aroma: pine, grapefruit, pineapple, bit of lemon peel and tons of luscious sweet caramel malt
Appearance: sparkling clear with tones of deep gold, caramel
Flavor: caramel and biscuit malt, citrus peel/grapefruit and pineapple, with enough woodsy and herbaceous hop bitterness to stand up to the sweetness
Palate: creamy but a bit thin - light for the style, smooth and easy to drink
No licorice flavor in my sample. The only problem is it doesn’t seem like it’s quite an IPA, more like an extra-hoppy pale ale. It’s a tasty summer beer for hopheads in the heat. I haven’t really been a huge fan of this brewery in the past, even though I’ve been suckered in by the advertising more than once (Ralph Steadman’s artwork has been among my favorites since I was in high school). I’m glad I gave this another shot.

Jun 9, 2006 Bottle. Nice golden yellowish color, with a full body. Fruity, and very hoppy. A pretty standard IPA.

Jan 13, 2009 Pours hazy orange with an off white head. Aroma is dominated by hops. Flavor is bitter with a decent malt backbone.

Jul 20, 2006 Golden amber pour with a small head, great lacing throughout the beer. Mild IPA aroma.. taste is sweet and very piney ... after bite is pretty sweet.. overall not too bad of an IPA.

May 18, 2006 6 pack. Pours a nice dark gold color with a light tan/white head. Minimal carbination, if any at all. Nice floral aroma. Taste is very hoppy but refreshing. Slight bitterness on the finish. A very nice IPA. Good job.

Aug 13, 2007 This IPA shows huge hops on the nose and then gives you that citrus and bitter pop on the palate and into the finish. Excellent.

Nov 4, 2006 Bottle. Pours a light orange, with a finger of creamy tan head. Floral bouquet, citrus notes fill the nose. Tastes like orange peels smell, quite well balanced. This is one of the beers that got me into micro’s, and i continue enjoying it.
