Very nice, subtle aroma with an excellent blend of fragrances. Lightly malty with notes of butter, sugar cookies, cereal grains, milk chocolate and English toffee. Moderately hoppy as well with aromas of grapefruit, flowers and hints of spruce, cinnamon, black pepper and just a hint of cheap perfume.
The flavor is lightly malty and moderately hoppy up front with blasts of English toffee, bitter herbs and grape fruit. Moderately bitter and tangy on the backside.
Just barely medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Finishes bone-dry, acidic and moderately bitter. A very nice ending to a very good glass of beer. Good beer; mediocre brewery. wilkie (1192), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Aroma is hoppy--grapefruit and pine. Flavor is semi-malty, but hops take over from the start. Bitterness grows from start to aftertaste--grassy-pine, citrous. JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Clear orange-amber beer; huge, very dense & fine head, slightly amberish coloured. Superb hoppy nose, C-hops, orange marmalade, pickles. Hops, oranges, sweet-hoppy, enfin, all the classics. But. My first and main remark is: this is a good beer. With bottle refermentation, it might be GREAT. THEN WHY ISN’T IT? Medium bodied, slickness, hop oils on the aftertaste. See the above remark: stop pasteurizing! Pours a thin, white, cloudy head with a clear, lightly carbonated deep golden body. Nose of great pine - and as sk8viking mentions - grape, the fake corner store soda kind. Flavour is very floral and piney. Well balanced with malt. This is very enjoyable. BeaverBrown (245), Portland, Oregon, USA

Flavour is gentle at first - delicate and fresh - and builds a dry hoppy bitterness as you go along. Very light carb which is unexpected but not a bad thing. Finishes very dry with some spice. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA

A medium bodied IPA. Malts are nutty and slightly sweet, with a touch of fruit. Hops are bitter and grapefruity. Touch of orange peel. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter. herbstress3 (221), Bellingham, Washington, USA

High in the mountains of Colorado or at a dank brew pub/bar in downtown LaCrosse Wisconsin with some good friends.
