Dark, very clear amber with a slight head and nice bit of lacing...fruity/spicy nose more complex than it initially seems, with bing cherries, grapefruit and a background of new car leather making appearances...on the tongue, a bit of sweetness at the front and massive, harsh bitterness quickly taking over, with dry citric acid powder coating the mouth long after the swallow...full and spicy/peppery throughout. I’m surprised at how much I liked this, given the overall average-to-mediocre nature of the brewery. legion242 (1586), Richardson, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2002 Above average IPA. Hops go more toward piney end of the spectrum. Clean malt flavor, just slight bit of residual sweetness. Hops dry the finish. Pretty decent. gwfrankpsu (231), McKinleyville, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2004 Rich amber appearance. Resinous, citrusy aroma. Fairly well balanced with a nod to the drier, hoppier side. Light-to-medium body. Clean, slightly fruity finish. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2004 Bottle. Pours clear amber with a thick white head that lingered well and left some lacing. Caramel malts dominate the aroma, with some floral hoppiness apparent as well. Flavor is also malty up front with a good dose of bitterness provided by the big hop content and an astringent finish. Light to medium body and assertive carbonation. A servicable IPA. DKlovesbeer (172), Sarasota, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2007 Orange/Amber color. Little white head. Not much aroma, mostly florall and citrus notes. Lackluster flavor, not bad, just nothing to write home about. I’d drink this again for sure, but it’s not a favorite. Overall: Decent IPA.
