Nothing wrong, nothing particularly exceptional but that’s good. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 14, 2004 Golden amber color with a small off white head. Aroma is sweet with a hint of pineapple and hops. Flavor starts lightly sweet followed by some grapefruit and pine and finishing dry and orange peel bitter. Palate a bit thin, but I wouldn't kick it out of bed. JPDIPSO (4921), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 13, 2002 Frothy white head, bright orange color, and a floral aroma as advertised. Well balanced brew, but if I have an IPA I want hopshopshops, and this just doesn’t do it for me. SJP (483), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 24, 2002 Updated: Jun 11, 2004Rerate Sampled again - still a good IPA - just had so many better ones to rate this one so high - description still sticks Original 3.8 Moderate hoppy aroma with a slight citrusy bent to it. Nice thick, lacy head and a thick, cloudy orange appearance. Hoppy flavor - but not too overpowering - makes for a strong finish. Finished with my mixed six of Flying Dog - overall - not a bad group of brews so far. jlf278 (255), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 17, 2008 12 oz. bottle pours with a small amount of head that ain’t stickin’ around. The color is marvelous extra-orange amber with a real shine to it. Very watery. Flavor is exceptionally woodsy and hits with a bitter wallop on the rear sides of the tongue. Oh my, this is one bitter devil. Far from balanced it has a charm to it. Not going to win any popularity contests but it’s unforgiving nature sets it apart from other moderate alcohol IPA’s.
