Part of the sample pack. Pours a pale yellow with a slight head, slight lacing. Aroma is light, slight malt, some hops, some spice. Taste is crisp, slightly fruity, with a dry finish. Mouth feel is alright, very refreshing when very cold. Overall, it’s pretty good, but nothing spectacular.

ABV: 5% RateBeer rating: 18 Calories: estimated at 150 C Volume: 12 fl oz Glass: altbier Purchased at: Varsity Liquors, Princeton, NJ Price: $1.33 Consumed at: First Impression: Nice character on a very average beer. Aroma is wheat and malt. Visuals are a pale yellow body with a thin white head. Taste is easygoing, simple, and crisp. Palate is dry, longer finish then you might expect. Second Impression: You might as well be drinking a Budweiser, but there is certainly a different sense and respect of craft here, in the finish, clarity, taste, and color. On tap at Jans Wine and Boos #2 (Tampa, FL). Pours a clear golden with one finger white head the diminishes rapidly but still laces the glass. Aroma is faint with notes of spice and bitterness. Flavor is spice and hops with watery bitter finish. Served too cold to really enjoy, and had a strong phenol taste on subsequent drinks.

Drinks like a Pale Lager with a bit more character. Not much more to say than that. Refreshing, drinkable, I wish that the miller lite, and bud tasted more like this.

golden, thin body, very easy to drink and smooth, not overpowering but freshing and clean, unlike many domestics,

This is a quality Flying Dog. Not bit on the Kolsch goldens but it’s tasty.

Pours a clear, light gold with a tall, frothy white head. Looks highly carbonated. Not much aroma, maybe a little bit of pale malts, hardly any hops. Maybe a little citrusy sweetness at first in the taste, but the rest is pretty bland.

Aroma: Sweet white wine, a touch of lemon and orange citrus, and some tangy yeast. Gives a bit of an impression of French bread. Appearance: A VERY pale golden yellow; practically takes the color of whatever is behind it. Paper-white, fizzy head. No lacing. Flavor: Not bad, a pleasant bready taste and some underdone citric hops. A touch of cheese. Palate: Crisp and nicely carbonated; adds a bit of pep and makes an otherwise boring brew fresh and sparkly. Overall: About on par with an average pilsener or standard lager. Has some savorable complexity but overall, it’s pretty weak in terms of flavor.
