Very golden with light bubbles rising in straight lines to form a thin white ring. Nice aroma of honey and summer grasses. Thin and watery. Slight hint of citrus fruit, maybe lemon. A little bit of grass. Some toasted hops. This would be pleasing in the summer.

June 2006 - Snore. Pour looked like a macro adjunct lager and didn’t taste all that different. Slightly fruity/citrusy flavor. I haven’t had many Kolsch’s, but if they all taste like this, I’ll pass in the future. Snore.

Big hop bouguet from a golden body with a nice snow white head. Malt/wheat/toast flavor with a nice hop bite at teh end, medium to light mouth feel. Great session beer.

12 oz. bottle, freshness date in the lower right hand corner of the front label, sampled in a stange glass. L: Clear pale golden yellow with quick rising white head of soapy foam, decent retention that leaves a little ringed lacing behind. S: Powdery, dusty grains and floral, lightly herbal hops with traces of a lemony apple fruitiness. F&T: Smooth malty light body, softly crisp and dry, has a nice rounded feel in the palate. A humdrum pale grainy malt taste with a lemony apple fruitiness coming out towards the end. Finishes clean with a mild herbal hop spiciness drying out the bland grainy cracker finale. For a style that I like, I thought this was a average Kölsch, drinkable while being boring at the same time.

12 oz bottle pours a brilliant gold with a quarter inch white head. Aroma is of wet grain. Taste is sweet almost like a macro lager. Not what I expected from Flying Dog.
