Sexy brew, good for HST, dig it. Not as velvety as regular Gonzo, but still quite a treat. 502Flavors (621), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 9, 2009 on tap at NachtBar. Very balanced and well-put-together brew. Pitch black with creamy tan mocha head. Hold holds very well. Flavor and aroma are very rich vanilla, oak, bourbon, and chocolate. I have mostly been turned off by the heavy imperial stouts and porters recently, but this is pretty damn impressive stuff. douglas88 (1605), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2009 750 ml bottle shared by Eric, thanks again. Pours a pure black color with a medium light brown head. The aroma is light cocoa, some wood and coffee. The flavor is very nice; some fizzy bourbon and woody elements, some lightly toasted malts, and a bit of near sour bourbon. Nice. Very tasty. Nice on a cold night. zeke626 (302), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2008 Updated: Oct 28, 2008750 ml, courtesy of General Gao. Opaque black that starts as all foam, even with a soft pour. Slowly settles to a one-inch layer that leaves frost all over the glass. Aromas of rich chocolate, vanilla, oak, ozone and fresh green-herby hops. Flavor has a bit too much whiskey. Other tastes include: caramel, chocolate, and coffee, plus some lighter tones of raspberry, char and earthy spice. Aftertaste of drying oak, vanilla-whiskey and citrus. Medium-heavy mouthfeel is mostly smooth but has a few fizzy flareups. daknole (2942), Plantation, Florida, USA
