Oct 1, 2007 Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, as well as light notes of soy sauce and alcohol.The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and alcohol, leading to a slgihtly burn finish with notes of spices.

May 20, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Pours a clear, opaque black with a dense, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and vanilla. Solid body, roasted and burned malt accents. Ends with a dry bitterness. The barrel aging doesn’t really shine through here which is a bit unfortunate. 090507

Apr 24, 2009 Bottled at Sorbon, Bromma, Stockholm. Opaque black, rich beige head. Fruity nose with vanilla/oak and coffee/licorice. Sweet and full bodied with syrup and coffee as ell as bourbon and molasses. Sugar and bourbon grows to dominate. On the surface it acts just as the top examples of the highly praised concept of bourbon barrel aging dark ales. A closer inspection reveals a stickyness and fruitiness, and it lacks elegance. It is tasty, but still feels like a poor photo copy of a masterpiece.

Clear dark black color with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, wood, licorice, light vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, good balanced. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft. [20090719]

Jul 30, 2009 Bottled@ChrisO. Rubyish red colour, small brown head. Aroma is very beautiful oak, vanilla, plum, sweet malts, liquorice and mild roasted notes. Flavour is even more oaked, slightly plummy and mildly syrupy. Balanced and lovely.
