Still, miniscule particles suspended in clear gold, while the towering crown of white-yellow foam evaporates furiously. Yeast and a failed hop-spice interplay on the nose. Mint, citrus and alcohol lead, followed by green bell pepper, crackers and dust. A hot rush of black pepper. The impression is way too clean. Tastes of bitter orange rind, sage and basil greens, finishing on a sharp soapy astringency. Floral in a medicinal sense. Palate is warm, prickly and too weighty. Alcohol bullies away the subtleties, if there are any. Messy. Thanks for sharing, Aaron!

750 ml bottle from Bottle Barn, Santa Rosa. Cloudy golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma of barn yard funk, malt, and yeast. Bright and lively palate. Earthy slightly fruity taste with a strong yeasty finish.

750ml bottle sampled. Pours Hazy golden with a large off-white head. Aroma of spices, citrus, yeast, and fruit. The flavor is sweet, spices, citrus, fruit, yeast, and finishes with a detectable hoppy dry finish. Good brew.

750 Ml Bottle-Pours a cloudy yellow/orange color w/a HUGE foamy white head. Sweet Belgian aroma. Fresh crisp clean Belgian flavor w/traces of yeast, wheat, colander, bananna, molasis/honey, & orange peel. Lots of carbonation. Reminded me of a Duvel, particularly w/the large head. Some hops up front, but malt finish was much more prevalent. Full rich mouthfeel, alcohol was well hidden. Quite enjoyable.

Hazy golden coloured body with orange highlights and a very frothy white head. Aroma of curacao, wheat, yeast, spices and some light hops. Medium-bodied; Very effervescent tasting along with some potent hops and wheat up front, fading to curacao and coriander seed. Aftertaste clean and reminiscent of wheat - a good saison all the way through. Overall, a good beer - nice to sample and a good representation of the style. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 23-June-2007 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of IrishBoy. Slightly hazy golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving some lacework. Aroma of yeast and coriander. Medium body with a fairly high carbonation. Notes of yeast, phenols and sulphur but also fruit and spices. Somewhat astringent finish but not exactly bitter. 180607

22 oz. bottle. Deep orange pour with a large, but loose, collapsing white head. Pretty good Sasion aroma: earth, spice, orange, must, dark fruit, and caramel. Medium body with very lively carbonation, some astringency. Caramel sweetness, some sour citrus, and enough bitterness coming on at the finish to dry things out. This is a pretty decent Saison, with a character that is certainly mindful of the styles Belgian origin. Carbonation was somewhat excessive. Finally, it’s a little pricey, especially compared to some of the other really good Saisons that are out there.
