This is my Bacon beer, best with BBQ and burgers, or anything roasted . It’s something to be savored

Bottle thanks to Dr. J. Almost black coloured with a medium sized head. Quite well balanced with notes of grain, smoke, chocolate, coffee and hops.

Magnum via sloth. Shared witht the folks while fixing the dining room monstrosity of a chandalier. full bodied from the get go. nose is of strong smoked malts and toffee. Pours a semi shimmering flatish brown with a deep black center that eats photons. Even prior to the first sip I knew this was going to be a 4+ brew. Body is big and chewy. Was it my fireplace making all this smoke or was it this beer. Hard to tell. Alcohol is absolutly covered by the full chocolate and smoke body. Cream head settles expediently and leves sparse if any lacng. The beer itself clings to the sides of glass and gives tint. Sadened that there wasnt more in the bottle.

750 ml. Dark chocolate pour with a beige head. Good head retention. Aroma is lots of malt and grass, some pine and chocolate. Very creamy mouthfeel, but pretty light bodied. Extreamly smooth roast malt and chocolate up front. Almost has a little milk stout characteristic to it. Enough hops to keep it honest though, but just barely. Just a hint of smokiness through the finish. Excellent drinkability. ABV non-existant. Maybe the best Schwarzbier/Rauch I’ve had. Exactly what I was looking for to watch my Spartans in round 2 of the NCAA.

Aroma is strong with roasted malts and smoke. Chocolate notes come through as well. The flavor is the same, but the chocolate stands out in the finish. The feel is creamy, almost like a stout. I am not a big fan of smoke beers, but this one finds a great balance and is real easy to enjoy.

RFD Tasting – Black, thin tan creamy head. Campfire smoke and salty fried bacon aromas warm to soft notes of maple coffee and hints of breadiness. Smoky flavor up front fades to light sweet meaty chocolate undertone. Very well balanced throughout with just a touch of backend bitterness in the finish. Full bodied and smooth with medium carbonation. A fantastic beer for summer grilling season. I wish it would be considered for the Canis Major Series (12 oz). The 750 ml is quite spendy…

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Black bodied with a dark brown hue around the edges when up against light. Short, dense brown head. Nose is very smoky like charcoal embers, burnt wood, and smoked sausage with roasted malts and light coffee. Taste is rather sweet and smoky. Burnt tomato and sugar based barbecue sauce, burnt wood, smoldering charcoal, coffee, roasted malt and light chocolate. This is delicious. Body was light-medium with creamy carbonation. Ends with more burnt wood, smoldering charcoal, smoked meats, chocolate, and roasted malt. Very nice!

Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep amber beer. Thin head. The aroma is intensely smoky. Rich sweet beechwood smoke and some heavy sweet chewy cocoaish malts. Ther eis a soft clean dark maltiness. It’s actually quite clean and well-lagered. There is a lightly cocoaish character and a bit of salty/rich maltiness. It’s actually very tasty with a great balance of roast, chocolate and smoke. Very tasty smoked beer.
