Poured medium caramelly-amber with a short-lived off-white head. Nose was of bananas, rum-soaked raisisn, caramel, and toasted nutty malts. Toasted sweeter malts in the flavor department focusing on nuttiness and dark fruits.. some herbs and lemony notes on the back-end. Medium-bodied and a decent feel to it.. sparkly alcohol and wheat highlights around the tongue. Very good start to the day. Brigadier (1260), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

Thank to MiBRomeo for opening this early in the day. It would not have stood up against some of the other things that came out later in the day, but it was still decent. I wouldn’t mind trying this again in isolation - a 750ml could last an entire night.
Aroma / Appearance - The aroma is a little thin but the chocolate, caramel, bread and fruity notes are pleasant enough. The pour was a dark mossy brown leaving a short lived one-finger head. There was enough opacity that only a little bit of light trickled through my glass.
Flavor / Palate - The mouthfeel was a little thin but not watery. Some carbonation brought with it chocolate and caramel. Afterwards comes a malty follow that finishes with a tart aftertaste. This was pretty easy to drink though not an exceptional example of the style. Sombeast (151), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Cloudy light brown’ tiny head clinging to thbe edge of the glass. Complex flavor, sourdough, clove, spicy. Aroma resurfaces in the finish. Over-ripe banana and wheat sourness later. Interesting. hezron (604), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2006 Bright caramel, sweet notes of banana and a hing of clove and a touch of chocolate. Cloudy, ruby red color with a thin head. Flavor is mineral-y caramel with some banana....fairly rough flavor. Fairly high bitterness in the finish for the style. I’m not a fan of mineral in beer so this isn’t my favorite. Medium texture, ok mouthfeel. Thanks to MIBRomero for sharing.
