Deep reddish-brown body, thick, puffy tan head. Banana and dark fruits in the nose, caramely sweet with a touch of strawberry. Sweet, cerealy body, not quite what I expect from a weizenbock, but there are still notes of banana. Strong sweetness, but not overpowering. Not much complexity or depth, but not a bad experience.

By no means an Aventinus, but isn’t unfair almost at this point to compare all the brave souls who try try this style now. Not the depth that the original has, but a fairly nice and warming replica. I would have again, but not at $12/bottle.

The aroma is sweet with bananas and spice and incense. The appearance is cloudy and brown with particulates. The flavor is bitter with all the elements from the aroma and some sugar candy. The palate is only average. Overall it’s not as special as it should be for the price.

Definitly some worth trying. Its aroma is a melody of banana and cloves. The taste and textue is very smooth. It leaves a slight piney bitter finish but is still worth having around

Snore. Even though FD brews continually fail to live up to expectations, I bought this hoping its "special-ness" would make it different. Wrong! Poured a brownish color with some red hues. The head was very minimal to nil within minutes. The lacing, nil. The aroma was sweet, burnt bananas and citrus with some yeast. The flavor was similar but lots and lots of astingency and undeveloped character. The alcohol as rather sharp, certainly not hiding. Overall, I’d take this over a handful of other styles, but within style, nothing special. Buy an aged bottle Schneider Aventinus instead.

Pours ruby/deep brown with a medium off-white head. Aromas of bready caramelly malts, wheat, bananas, cloves, fruit. The flavor is caramel malty with a solid dose of banana, clove, nuts, and figgy fruits. Good balance and complex. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

750ml. bottle thanks to Frumpty Dumpty. Cloudy dark amber color with a small off white head. Aroma of light banana, cloves, caramel and bread with a bit of the plastic that others have mentioned. Flavor pretty much matched the aroma, but the banana flavor was nearly nonexistant. That odd plasticness was still there unfortunately.

Hazy, multi brown. Thick, frothy, tan cap. Flavor and aroma of toasty caramel malt, banana, dark fruits - raisins, doughy yeast, and some spice. A touch of warmth in the finish. Medium, lightly carbonated, soft palate. Very good, very drinkable.
