Pours a beautiful aurburn that reminds me of my girlfriend’s hair in the winter. The aroma of bananas cloves and spice take my mind back to exotic days on the beach. The flavor is like a malty smokie hefe-weizen. It’s so smooth that flies down my throat like an Italain in a luge event. Overall this beer makes my head forget about the boring soul crushing day I’ve had at the rat race.

A caramel color pour with big carbonation and a light head that stuck around for a while. I noted banana bread in the aroma as well as vanilla ice cream. Creamy thick aroma. The taste was similar to this aroma in that I noted banana, clove etc. Found it hard to describe but eventually landed on banana bread with some kind of marshmallow candy. Lightly sweet but well balanced overall. Yeast and wheat being the big players here. Light body and a creamy mouth feel. Pretty nice.

This special release came in a green, 750 ml., corked, and wire caged bomber with little card hanging around the neck explaining more about the beer. The beer was poured out this handsome packaging into a half liter Weizen glass, in which it looked very good. The body was reddish amber in color, and clear, and the carbonation nice and active. The head formed nicely to two fingers tall, but unlike the Weizens I love, it did not last very long.

The aroma was floral, citric, spicy, and sweet, with some woodiness. It was typical of the milder beers made from wheat, and did not start approaching the dark fruit complexity of Aventinus. The taste was also pleasant with citric sourness, banana sweetness, and clove spiciness in a good balance of flavors. The higher alcoholic strength made this drier, and warmer than most other Weizens. There was a hint of smoke imparted by darker malts. The overall taste embraced simplicity rather than complexity.

The carbonation was a bit higher than necessary, and the prickle of the bubbles detracted from the malty smoothness. The body also felt a touch too thin, and the lack of yeast in the initial pour did not help the mouthfeel. During the second pour, I was able to swirl the yeast out of the bottom, but no way would I have done that prior to uncorking the bomber. The yeast did seem to smooth out the mouthfeel, and add some chocolate flavor to the taste.

I wouldn’t hold this one at the same high regard as the previous two Wild Dogs (namely Double Dog, and Gonzo). This was more like a Schnauzer posing as a Wild Dog to get some attention.

750ml bottle poured a hazy brown with a lasting amber head. Aromas of wheat, bubblegum, spices and a hint of banana. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of carmel, clove, and a hint of banana with a crisp, sweet finish.

Pours brown with a tan head. Smells soapy with some cloves, bananas, and salt shining through. Tastes caramelly with chocolate and lots of dough and spices. Finish is very spicey. Mouthfeel is of butter cookies and lots of spices. Nice brew, but too heavy on the cloves and spices.

Pours a hazy golden amber color. Aromas of clove, banana, fruit, and alcohol. Flavor is alcoholic clove and spice with a bittersweet finish. Good beer, just not something I would have often. Thanks to dhrjericho for this one!!

Very dark orange hazy bottle. The head is light khaki coloring. Aroma is tart with ornages and hay. There is also sme toffee. The taste is caramel with some tobacco and a litle bit of apples. Strange tasting. A decent beer, but could have more body.
