Pours a hazy golden amber color. Aromas of clove, banana, fruit, and alcohol. Flavor is alcoholic clove and spice with a bittersweet finish. Good beer

pours a hazy brown with a good sized tan head. Aroma of brown sugar, rasins, fruits. Flavor is yeasts, dark fruits, cloves, spices, esthers, a touch of sour, and some earthiness. Interesting take on the style, but something is a little off with this one.

Bottle conditioned 750ml, probably 1-2 years old. Pours dark brown, mostly clear at first but subsequent pours have some yeast cloudiness. Nose is noticeably oxidized but not overpowering. Notes of maple, cola, brown sugar, toast, some figs and dates, and some resemblance to Abt yeast... thick and sweet up front, some sweetened creamed cardboard, cork, and soggy bread notes... on the back there’s a very light spiciness that works with the maple/brown sugar character. Not bad overall, and I’m actually surprised that I like it. I put off opening the bottle for so long because I was dreading what was inside.

Bottle. Hazy dark amber with some sediment and small head. Aroma is strong of wheat, ripe fruit, molasses, and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet but still smooth. Low carbonation, medium bodied, and a very easy drink. Pretty good even with a few big chunks of sediment which I don’t want to consume.

[1302-20080418] 750mL bottle. Funky pine needle fruity blend aroma is sweet and slightly like sherry. Hazy, dark red amber body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Old sour yeast flavour flavour with a general grainy funk and some heavier wine notes. Medium body with a slight sour note. Could be off but I can’t imagine my numbers would change that much.

Caged and corked bottle. Dark pour with a small head. Served in a new Sam Adams glass. Aroma and taste of some sweet roasted malt with a little hops thrown in for balance. Nothing exceptional but not bad either.

Poured from a 750ml caged & corked bottle and served in a weizen glass. This beer poured a clear, mahogany brown with a thin head of bubbly tan foam. Decent retention...not much lace. The aroma of the beer was made up of dates, dark fruits, fruity bananna esthers, toasted caramel, and also a bit of alcohol. The flavor included sweet fermented fruits, toasted wheat and caramel, and some light alcohol warmth. The flavor was somewhat dominated by this strange, fruity, vinous note. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with mild carbonation. I was expecting a weizen bock when I opened this, but what was inside the bottle was way off base. I’m all for experimentation, but this was just a bit weird.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a soapy white head. Sweet aroma with some spices. Taste of wheat, banana, clove, citrus and a bit of alcohol.
