Citrus hops, nicely carbonated, light, perfect for a summer night, sweet with hints of cinnamon. Nice.

12 oz. bottle pours a golden-green snot color with limited tight white head that moves into a slight ring at the edges but leaves no lacing and does not linger. The initial aroma is a powerful punch of corriander with a follow up of wafting honeysuckle sweetness. Moderate carbonation with a front palate of citrus - oranges, maybe? - a middle palate of malty mossiness and a warm, earthy, corriander finish. Less carbonated and more complex than I had expected, both of which are great! Would be nicely paired with a spinach salad topped with grilled chicken, goatcheese and mandarin oranges.

6-pack. Cloudy dark yellow-orange. (Crisp gold if you don’t stir the sediment) Good head, not enormous. Some lasting lacing and thick ring. Aroma is a bit light with the spicy coriander the strongest element. The orange comes through more with a gentle stir of the sediment. Flavours are at different times soft banana, bitter orange, lemon, chalk and always the coriander. For less bitterness leave the sediment behind.

Bottle. Poured a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma of clove and wheat. Flavor of spice, citrus and wheat. Good carbonation but a slightly thin body.

i wanted to like this more. something was lacking. all the yellowness of a fresh peel banana and all the froth of an airy ocean foam, but the aroma and the flavor just paled. nice try on the clove and orange peels. don’t give up on the bubbly celebration of it. but, honestly, this one just didn’t go through. too weak and watery at every channel.

(Bottle) Pours a hazy dull yellow color with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma of spicy clove, wheat malts and yeast. Taste includes some citrus, biscuit, yeast, and minimal spice. Average mouthfeel and carbonation. Another decent beer from Flying Dog, but I don’t feel it really stands out in the ever-increasing crowd of American-made Witbiers.

(12oz bottle from Central Market on September 16, 2008) Pours a great white frothy head, leaving solid, thick lacing down the glass above a very bright (yet solid) orange brew. Its aroma very wit-like. Nothing outstanding or to complain about. Its flavor doesn’t seem to live up to the expectations of the nose, though. Almost has a metallic air to it, and I wish there was a bit more pungency. You can really taste the coriander and grains, though. Overall, a decent wit, but definitely American. Very light, not heavy at all - which is good at certain times of the year.
