A very good Belgian Wit. Smooth and even from the first sip to the last. Definately one of the top summer beers!

Full review available at: http://beer47.com/2009/02/flying-dog-woody-cr ----- Condensed review: ----- Appearance. This beer has cloudy yellow-orange color. The head is white and doesn’t last very long. ----- Smell. The bouquet has citrus, lemon, with a hint of orange and spice. The aroma has a hint of unroasted grains. ----- Taste. The taste is crisp with light citrus, like lemon with a hint of coriander. It is sweet and refreshing with very little bitterness. ----- Mouthfeel. This beer is light bodied, crisp, and has no bitter aftertaste. ----- Drinkabili This is a smooth witbier and it is easy to drink more than one of these in a single session.

cloudy yellow pour with abundant long lating head. citrus flavors are very present in the aroma...but dicipate in the taste to make a very evenly flavored beer.

Pours a glowing murky yellow with a medium sudsy white foam. Love the aroma on this, spicy, lots of coriander, light orange, wheat makes it thru, vanilla... makes it smell a little bit woody and sour. Fantastic flavors, strong and forward, yet balanced. Perfect amount of spice overtop a background of sweet wheat and light orange, hint of sour yogurt. Where this beer really gets its character from is the sour tartness that emerges, it almost tastes like it was blended with an oak aged sour wit. Great mouthful, similar to Hoegaarden but with a little fuller body. Very crisp sizzling carbonation, medium/light. I don’t know if its better now that its brewed in Maryland... but this is an All-star and a great example of a Belgian White.

bottle. poured a very hazed yellow. yeasty nose very estery with a light citrus spice. taste- enjoyable, sweet, banana yeast goodness. very light and was perfect at the end of a long day that involved a mile trek in wet socks. sweet and spice balance well here. i really enjoyed the flavor of this. on a side note i just bet this would be great with a few hundred pounds of raspberry thrown into the fermenter. regardless, this is a very good beer. i expect to drink more of this this summer.

Poured from bottle into water glass at work. Very cloudy, pale yellow with moderate head. Looks almost slightly gray if head away from the light. Aroma of strong citrus, coriander and sour wheat malt. Pungent smell overall. Spicy coriander upfront with orange rounding out the flavor. "Wheaty" and slightly sour malt. Pepper and some bitter hops at the end. Moderately high carbonation, with a moderate body and pretty dry overall. Feels tangy. Exceedingly refreshing, one of the better made and most balanced of all the American made Wits.
