Commercial Description:
This Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel is an exceptionally complex beer with many interwoven flavors. This classic-style Abbey beer features an immense head with a fruity nose and a generous body. Malty in the middle, the beer features a clean, almondy dry finish and a slight alcohol warmth. More like a wine than a beer—it has a lot of the qualities of a fine Burgundy. The beer is bottle-conditioned.

Tap @ OBF... Poured a deep amber. Spiced esters and clove on the nose. A good carbonation. Toasted malts and lots of spices. Big clove flavors. Not much with bitterness. Ginger or maybe ginseng with some dark fruits.

Dark rust hue, virtually no lasting tan head, smells sweet, smells of toasted malt, some nut and yeast, flat texture, medium body, hint of syrupy brown sugar, pretty good as not really that into Flying FIsh style, lacks the thickness of typical Dubbel, drinkable not to complex.

Bottle. This beer doesn’t not compare at all to true Belgian Dubbels. Flavor is very mediocre at best, aroma is barely there, try something else.

Bottle: Poured a dark amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention but minimal lacing. Aroma of fruity ester with some sweet Belgian style malt and some light alcohol. Taste is a nice enough mix between some fruity ester some candi sugar and nice Belgian malt. Body is about average with good carbonation but light alcohol burn was slightly disappointing. Not bad overall but I have seen better form this style.

Poured a mahogany color with foamy tan head. Sweet malts and mild yeast aromas. Flavor was surprisingly complex with sweet malts, some dark fruits, brown sugar, a little hop tinge and a satisfying dry finish. Medium bodied, full flavored and better as it sits for a few minutes. I didn’t taste the alcohol at all.

On tap at the Jet Rock bar at the PHL airport. Ambar colour, with nomhead at all. Sweet malty bread aroma, dried fruit, yeasty bread flavour. Nice carbonation, alcohol not overpowering.
