Commercial Description:
This Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel is an exceptionally complex beer with many interwoven flavors. This classic-style Abbey beer features an immense head with a fruity nose and a generous body. Malty in the middle, the beer features a clean, almondy dry finish and a slight alcohol warmth. More like a wine than a beer—it has a lot of the qualities of a fine Burgundy. The beer is bottle-conditioned.

Fine dark ruby color with no real head lying atop. The aroma is sweet grapes and berries mixed with earthy notes, cobweb and an overall musty scent. Flavor has a very roasted complex to it, like fresh smoked pete. In there is some sweetness with some dark fruit flavors. The palate is marked with the viscous sweetnes and a mild hop presence.

[12 oz. bottle] Clear copper color with a thick tan head. Faint aroma of malt, sweetness and spice. Almost musty flavor of burnt malt with hints of smoke, toasted almonds and a bitter finish of smoky malts and a little hop. Interesting flavor. Doesn’t really taste as high in alcohol as it really is.

Very light taste that doesn’t overpower foods, etc. Actually, it tastes like they added Rolling Rock to water down a good, strong beer.

This dubbel has a nice high alcohol content, but has a nice good flavor that maskes up any overpowering taste. The dubbel isn’t the best beer they have but it’ll do for a nice fall day.

Tap from Andy’s.This poured brownish/red. Good head. Fruity and compleax, with malt and maybe nuts?. even yeast. I liked this and I know there is some alcohol but I can’t find it. Excellent.

Not bad. I had no idea that this was 7 percent alcohol until I read it. Very fruity taste. Not the taste I like in a beer. There wasn’t much other taste present in the beer. It was kind of like an imitation of Westmalle which did not measure up. I liked the Oktoberfish and the Pale Ale, but not this.
