Commercial Description:
This Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel is an exceptionally complex beer with many interwoven flavors. This classic-style Abbey beer features an immense head with a fruity nose and a generous body. Malty in the middle, the beer features a clean, almondy dry finish and a slight alcohol warmth. More like a wine than a beer—it has a lot of the qualities of a fine Burgundy. The beer is bottle-conditioned.

Poured a nice light brown with a thick fizzy gead that didn't last. Aroma was mildy sweet with caramel and brown sugar. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Nuts, caramel, spices, and earth tones on the tongue. Not exactly what I'd consider a good abbey dubbel, nevertheless, it was a decent beer.

On Tap. This is a good Abbey Double. Fruity, caramel, and sweet flavors. Finishes smooth, clean, and dry.

On tap. Dark red, little or no carbonation. Seemed to have some apple aroma/flavor which I don't like.

Deep copper with a malty, fruity-spicy aroma. Hints of spice and raisins with a warming alcohol feel, though not strong. A bit easier to drink than expected.

For the price, a really good interpretation of the style. You can easily pick up a six pack for like 7 bucks. Very complex with fruity notes and many other enjoyable flavors. The high ABV is an added bonus. Beautiful, dark brown color. Plus, its from Jersey. JERSEY!

a good looking dubbel beer with a dark brew and long lasting head. the aroma was a distinct fruity/spicey smell. the flavor had the classic belgian/abbey flavor which is hard to describe other than a spicey/fruity/nutty semblance.

Pours a reddish brown color, with a big craggy head. The aroma is sweet and tangy, mouthfeel is slightly thin with a kind of watery finish. Has some nice candy and toffee flavors. Not really what I would consider true to the style but a nice try.

12 oz bottle. Tall, creamy, rocky white head is slowly diminishing and sits on a medium brown-red body. Caramel malt (M); candi sugar, toffee aromas. Nutty, coffee taste. Moderately sweet throughout. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. The bottom line is: Dubbel? Close, but no cigar.
