Commercial Description:
This Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel is an exceptionally complex beer with many interwoven flavors. This classic-style Abbey beer features an immense head with a fruity nose and a generous body. Malty in the middle, the beer features a clean, almondy dry finish and a slight alcohol warmth. More like a wine than a beer—it has a lot of the qualities of a fine Burgundy. The beer is bottle-conditioned.

Clean tasting. Dark brown in color. Nice flavorful aroma. The beer has a malty and nutty finish. Enjoyable. The first time I had it it must have been a bad batch because the first time I had it I really didn't enjoy it. Its pretty good though. Its a nice warming beer.

Poured a dark brown color with no head or lacing. Dark fruits, some hops in the nose. Malty, slightly spicy, some vanilla, and even some fruit in the taste.

Cask, dry hopped with fresh Cascades: Same color. Aroma is very green and freshly grassy, and the maltiness blends nicely with the hops, hiding any hints of Belgian fruityness. Flavor is much the same, with the big malt blending in nicely with the fresh dose of green grassy hops. This is delicious, and way better than the standard version, IMHO. The only problem is that you would never think this a Belgian, but who cares?
Bottle:Nice red brown color. Not enough carbonation for the style. Thin tanish head. Get a little diacetyl? in the aroma, and definitely not fruity enough. Nice malty flavor with a gentle fruitiness. Not bad and can be improved easily. Very drinkable, but the flavors may be in need of a little oomph. 6-4-7-4-13

A very good drinking beer I liked this one a lot. It had a very malty aroma and flavor. It didn't have the stronger phenolic flavors that I was expecting in a Belgian Dubbel, but I actually liked the taste more this way. A very good beer that I have drank before and will drink again.

Amber brown with a foamy white head that settles with a nice lace. Sweet apricot spice aroma. Flavor is rich and smoth with a faint alcohol presence. Aggresive carbonation did not compliment, though I don't think it took any thing away. Overall a good beer.

Aroma is reminiscent of a spicy banana with a slight alcohol smell. Appearance is a dark brown with large, quickly dissapating head. Flavor seems to fade quickly and is hard to nail down. Sweet and carmely up front with an alcohol-dominated, watery finish. Palate seems thin overall.

Pink head. Slightly murky appearance. Spicey peppermint aroma. Very smooth. Prickly up front, quite carbonated but still with a nice small-bubbled smoothness. A little alcohol in the nose, with some caramel, but weak as far as flavor goes.

Foaming, soft cream head on a red/brown/pinkish? body. I wasn't sure of the head; it seemed too much. Juicy Fruit (chewing gum) and caramel aroma, then vanilla. The flavor faded quickly, being slightly watery in composition. A titch of the alcohol shines through the caramelly body, and there is a bit of spice as well. this didn't really add up, to me.
