Flavor is watery with malt presence. Boring beer and not a good rep. for the style. ReRate! Pour is a nice redish brown with little to no head. Aromas of alcohol, cherries, sweet fruit, and slight banana. Flavor is caramel, sweet fruits, a slight floral hop, and nice sweet malt. Very drinkable and solid. I dont know what happened with my previous rating...this one is much better now that what I remember. JPDIPSO (4932), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 27, 2008 Copper color with a smallish off-white head. Grainy silage aromas. Not quite a DMS scent, but very close. Sweet malty start, with flavors of dark caramel and candi. A bit too sweet without much complexity behind it. Grainy in the middle. Light malt again in the finish and middle. No real yeast character. A malty ale that is too sweet with no personality. A nice smile and decent body, but there is not enough depth to hold any kind of a conversation with this one. BeerFanDan17 (628), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

Nice carbonation. Not a lot of flavor, a little watery. Has a metalic after taste. smjohnst (203), , Pennsylvania, USA

Everything else is spot-on for the style.......malty, chocolatey flavor, with the slight presence of alcohol (which this style should have), sweet and fruity nose, easy to drink, etc. One of the best American renditions of a Belgian Dubble and certainly the best I’ve had from the Fish.
