The_Beer_God (2838), Newport News, Virginia, USA Nov 20, 2005 Bottle - courtesy of slob. Pours a lazy bronze with a small whitish head. Nose is fruity and sweet with light candy notes, yeast and a hint of flowers. Taste brings out light raisin notes and cherries, chewy malts, plums, a bit of flowers, light yeast and spice. Body is smooth with light carbonation and a bit of alcohol warmth. Finishes with big fruits (more cherries and plums), light yeast, Belgian spiciness and sweet maltiness.
imadeadguy (151), Westampton, New Jersey, USA Aug 29, 2008 Pour is nut brown with little to no head. Aromas of caramel and malt. Flavor is watery with malt presence. Boring beer and not a good rep. for the style. JPDIPSO (4233), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Aug 27, 2008 Copper color with a smallish off-white head. Grainy silage aromas. Not quite a DMS scent, but very close. Sweet malty start, with flavors of dark caramel and candi. A bit too sweet without much complexity behind it. Grainy in the middle. Light malt again in the finish and middle. No real yeast character. A malty ale that is too sweet with no personality. A nice smile and decent body, but there is not enough depth to hold any kind of a conversation with this one. BeerFanDan17 (375), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Aug 18, 2008 Sampled at the Oregon Brewers Fest in July ’08. Very unique brew. Fruity nose for sure. Smooth and somewhat malty. ScoWRee (216), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 11, 2008 Pours a nice cooper color with almost no head. Aroma is yeasty. Taste has a hint of brown sugar. Nice carbonation. Not a lot of flavor, a little watery. Has a metalic after taste. smjohnst (133), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 1, 2008 This is a good beligian. It tastes a lot like Fransiskaner just not quite the quality of ity.
