Commercial Description:
This Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel is an exceptionally complex beer with many interwoven flavors. This classic-style Abbey beer features an immense head with a fruity nose and a generous body. Malty in the middle, the beer features a clean, almondy dry finish and a slight alcohol warmth. More like a wine than a beer—it has a lot of the qualities of a fine Burgundy. The beer is bottle-conditioned.

A nice looking beer. Nice lacing and head. Sweet raisen, alcohol and spice aroma. Malty and sweet flavor. A good beer, but just seems to be missing something. Tasty though.

Pour is nut brown with little to no head. Aromas of caramel and malt. Flavor is watery with malt presence. Boring beer and not a good rep. for the style.

Copper color with a smallish off-white head. Grainy silage aromas. Not quite a DMS scent, but very close. Sweet malty start, with flavors of dark caramel and candi. A bit too sweet without much complexity behind it. Grainy in the middle. Light malt again in the finish and middle. No real yeast character. A malty ale that is too sweet with no personality. A nice smile and decent body, but there is not enough depth to hold any kind of a conversation with this one.

Sampled at the Oregon Brewers Fest in July ’08. Very unique brew. Fruity nose for sure. Smooth and somewhat malty.

Pours a nice cooper color with almost no head. Aroma is yeasty. Taste has a hint of brown sugar. Nice carbonation. Not a lot of flavor, a little watery. Has a metalic after taste.

This is a good beligian. It tastes a lot like Fransiskaner just not quite the quality of ity.
