(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy amber with a tall, handsome and rather stable yellowish head. Fruity, lightly bubblegumish nose. Huge, solid body with a lot of caramel and fruit. Very aromatic hoppy finish. Great beer. 270106

Bottled - Vintage 2003: Light amber coloured. Unclear. Dense beige head. Sweet, fruity and quite hoppy and herbal nose. Flavour is mellow and smooth. Fruits, flowers and some herbs. Is smooth and sweet in the end with loads of alcoholwarmht on the palate and lips. Is quite bitter. Full bodied.

2003. Cloudy light orange-copper pour assists to the formation of a rather large off-white head. Heavily malty nose comes out both biscuity and candyish with underlying earthiness and potent floral, fruity, orangey and highly vegetal hops. In mouth, this vegetal character disturbs me a bit, but the oakiness brings it a sense of elegance. Slick medium-full body, rather tannic and not too sweet. Thanks Eric!

2½ years old, on tap at egajdzis’s place:

The Lure:
Candy predominates the inate resin, as strawberry jam discriminates the other berries.

The Festivities:
Durable strawberry jam over arable resinous hop flavor and bitterness. The round malt mouthfeel encompasses the fruity campus with its sweet opus. Balanced and flavorful, probably worth the wait.

Transcendence:
Kids have their lollipops...

2003 from egajdzis. Caramel orange with barely any head. Thin bubbles around the ring. Oak sweet aroma. Alcohol barley flavor. Clean warm finish.

Sample courtesy of egajdzis (thanks!). This one is on tap at Eric’s basement and he was kind enough to bring a sample over to our mid-week tasting. Keg dated from February 2003. Poured a medium amber/copper color with a small sized off white head. Aromas and tasets of light vanilla, caramel, and some woodiness to it. Some hops present. Light alcohol bite.

Thanks to egajdzis for this. Pours an average amber with a small head. I always find the barley wines hard to describe. Sweet both in the aroma and flavor. Slightly bitter in the end of the flavor. Alcohol is there as well.

On cask at Andy’s, great tan head on an amber body. A little more hops than I was expectingin the nose, but the flavor didnt’t reflect it. Very balanced flavor, a little on the sweet side.
