Draft at Oregon Brewers Festival, Portland, OR. Small beige head that was mostly lasting, no carbonation observed, and a orange brown hue Nose was very inviting with vanilla notes, bourbon, fruity, and malty. The flavor was vinuous but not overdone, fruity, malty, hint of vanilla, and finishes sweet not much so. Very tasty indeed! Smooth, warming mouthfeel and medium body. A sipping brew for sure, would be a nice one to have on a cold, snowy evening and definitely a brew that I would drink again and again and again. Absolutely try this one if it comes your way.

Poured a dark amber color with a thin off-white head. The aroma had nice notes of vanilla and some bourbon. Mildly sweet malt makes up the base. The flavor had some yeasty and estery notes mixed through the malty flavor.

Hand bottle courtesy of The_Epeeist! Pours a dark brown caramel color with a smallish beige colored head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, bourbon, hint of chocolate perhaps. Flavor is blast of bourbon, again the caramel and toffee, with a touch of choclate and vanilla, perhaps some spice as well. Palate is medium bodied, medium to highly carbonated, finished on the sweet side ywt very balanced. I thought this was fantastic.

Dark caramel color with light woody aroma. The flavor was very complex with plum, vanilla, light wood, and bourbon all mingeling together nicely. Some tartness and alcohol in the finish.

dark amber, fine beige head, drops of lace, sweet chocolate and dark caramel aroma with a blanket of bourbon, sweet bourbon and dark caramel flavor, nice chocolate character, lots of fruity esters provide good balance for bourbon, the chocolate and bourbon also blend well, very low alcohol is well hidden, upon warming the vanilla sweetness comes out upon warming, overall blends much better than the normal belgian bourbon beer to make a nice chocolate caramel candy with a bourbon center,

This draft brew from the Oregon Brewers festival poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized brownish white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a good lacing. The strong aroma was vinous with brown malt and mild spice notes. Itr was ver interesting. The semi-flat mouth feel was strongly tingly and vinous at the start and weakly tingly at the finish. The thin flavor contained notes of mild warm spice vinous and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Handbottle via trade with MrBendo. Thanks. Pours orangey reddish amber with a half finger tan head. The nose is malty and sweet and has a bit of bourbon there as well. The beer has far too much bourbon flavor that hits up front with a whallop of alcohol that does not match with any kind of 7.5% abv. With this kind of bourbon kick there should be a far stronger backbone of alcohol to match up with. Behind the bourbon there is a dubbel but it is in hiding and I really have to poke my tongue around to find it. Overall a bit harsh for my palate but and interesting choice for a beer to bourbon barrel.

Amber in color with a thick aroma of both bourbon and wood. The flavors was that of a strong ale with a bourbon flavor. This was a fun beer but had too much of a sweet finish. Have a hard time with the harsh fruityness in the beer and the spices where very dull. Not bad but not he best.
