blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA Nov 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours amber with a white head. Sweet malty aroma with floral/light earthy hops and a light biscuity note. The flavor is well balanced, with sweet toffee and light floral hops. Pretty good. doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA Oct 18, 2009 12oz bottle from dmac. Pours hazy amber with a thin, fizzy head and no lace. Smells cereal malty and sweet, slightly metallic. Tastes the same and slightly spicy, maybe hops. Eh, plain overall. Medium body, good carbonation. Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Oct 9, 2009 From dmac via trade. Poured a clear pale amber color with a super short white head. Streaks of lace. Tons of sweet malts in the nose with a bit of light citrus. The flavor was the same. A tad grainy on the mouthfeel. Thin body. Not bad. daknole (2810), Plantation, Florida, USA Sep 8, 2009 Amber pour. Lots of caramel malt, light hops and some cracker notes. Flavor is pretty typical of an ESB or amber. Caramel, hops, etc. Ho hum. jport4087 (73), Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2009 Nice beer but I was expecting a bit more. Caramel and fruity hops makes this a perfect session beer...unfortunately, it is not much more than that. Overall, enjoyable beer. Cruzan59 (197), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 13, 2009 Variety Case from Brewers Outlet, Lancaster, PA...amber pour, white head...sweet malts in the smell, some fruitiness...bit of malt, some citrus and hops in the flavor...pretty light like the rest of the case. pineypower (1076), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Aug 6, 2009 Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out a mostly clear light amber color with a large slightly off white head. Aroma is of sweet malts, grain, some slight grassy/citrus hops also linger in the background. Taste is straight forward, sweet malts, grains some citrus hops and a little bit of a thin body. To me the sweetness overpowers the other things going on in here....or maybe this just isn’t my style. williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Aug 3, 2009 Appearance is a carrot orange with a thin frosting of head. Cloudy with slowly upfloating carbonation. More head would have been nice. The smell is dual malt aromas creating a tug-of-war: the spicy pale malt and the toasted amber malt. The hops are spicy and flowery both. It’s a very spring-y beer, with a lot of pop. The hops in the flavor shine though here, giving a refreshing, spicy and estery taste. The caramel-tinged malt adds more flavor. A real burst of disparate tastes. The body on this beer is fantastic: it is thick and creamy and whips into a foam when agitated. There is lots of flavor here: spicy, flowery, roasted and yet refreshing.
