Commercial Description:
This ESB is a classic British extra special bitter made fresh with an American slant. A beautiful copper color with an amber head, classic style features six different malts, including imported Belgian malts, and three hop varieties. The rich malty start features caramel notes that develop into a smooth, pleasurable hop finish.

Bottled. Reddish Brown in color, with a creamy head. Smells slightly skunky/citrusy. Nice from start to finish, really love this ESB, especially over the overly hoppy Redhook ESB. I’m drinkin these for awhile, they’re good.

Copper, off white head, sweet malty flavor, and then a pleasant hop finish. Decent aroma as well.

Sampled at the mondial, bright amber color, with a frothy beige head, nice caramelized malt, toffeeish accent, bready dough, hint of floral hops in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet grainy caramel malt, with a toffeeish note, hint of fruitiness, leading towards a slightly sweet biscuity malt and a faint hop bitterness finish.

Robe dorée très claire surmontée d’une mousse blanche qui persiste. Arômes de malt caramel. Saveurs de caramel. Houblon de soutien.

12 oz bottle. Coppery gold pour, pretty big white head. Respectable lace. Medium bodied, flavors of slightly sweet malt. Finish is more bitter than expected, but not unpleasant. Solid offering.

I thought this was a nice ESB and quite to style, but I tend to like the ESBs with more hop flavor. It has better balance than a typiclal ESB, but not the flavor of better ESBs such as 14er ESB and Brutal Bitter.

Bottle. Basically, this is an American version of a bitter, meaning more hops. The aroma is hopy, not floral or bitter but definitly hoppy. Body is light, color is light copper. Finishes with a nice bit of bittering. I would think that maybe the macro drinkers may not find this offensive. Overall, for its style I think its good.
