Commercial Description:
This ESB is a classic British extra special bitter made fresh with an American slant. A beautiful copper color with an amber head, classic style features six different malts, including imported Belgian malts, and three hop varieties. The rich malty start features caramel notes that develop into a smooth, pleasurable hop finish.

2006 Bottle. Man what a great unkbown bitter. Pleasant aroma and flavor makes this a very good ale that goes down smooth. A great mixture of hops adds a nice bitter taste. A good bitter from a decent micro-brew. Cheers!

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours a copperish color with a small compact off-white head, the aroma is fruity and you can smell the english style hops, taste also has the presence of fruit, hoppy, semi-bitter, this is a good beer, not as bitter as a usual ESB, decent body, not to watery or thin. very drinkable.

I liked this one even though it was not what I was expecting--it was not at all bitter, for one. Cold tasting. Very fruity, and in a subtle way. Very very smooth. My only complaint is that there was a very slight sweetness to the malt that I did not like, although I only started to notice it towards the end of the bottle. Extremely pleasant, and relatively complex aftertaste. Overall a very likeable beer, very subtle and complex.

Tap. Deep red on the pour with a decent head. Very fruity on the nose which continues on the palate mixed with maltiness. I thought it was pretty balanced but coukld use a little more hoppiness. A pleasent enough brew.

bottle. really nice nose: bubblegum fruit. tastes less interesting than that promises: malt, mild bitters, as sweet as aromas indicated without the flavors of the aroma. medium amber body and a decent head. not worth writing home about but ok.

Bottle - courtesy of slob. Pours amber with a small white head. Nose has light hints of toffee and hops and a bit of sweetened malts. Taste has an odd flavor - either Bit-O-Honey candy or pumpkin cheesecake (had this recently at a restaurant and the flavor almost immediately reminded me of it). Otherwise, very malty and decently hopped. Comes across nicely, either way. Some light earthiness in this as well. Body is medium with a moderately aggressive carbonation feel. Finishes with more sweetness coming through - malt and toffee, with light dried frutiness, some bread, and nuts.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a small but long lasting off white head. Aromas of bread, carmel and toffee. Palate was medium bodied and a bit dry. Flavors of carmel, bread and toffee with a slightly bitter finish. This is a very malty beer, I hardly notice any hops.

I like the malty bitter flavor and after-taste-the goes great with tacos! But otherwise its just a decent brew with a nice kick and pleasant aroma to it.
