Commercial Description:
This ESB is a classic British extra special bitter made fresh with an American slant. A beautiful copper color with an amber head, classic style features six different malts, including imported Belgian malts, and three hop varieties. The rich malty start features caramel notes that develop into a smooth, pleasurable hop finish.

poured a clear orangish-amber. with a very thin, fizzy white head that didn’t last long at all. tasted mildly bitter. much more mild than I expected. in fact - there was sweetness to it like Life cereal/cinnamon sugar. light on the cinnamon heavy on the sugar. and caramel. aroma just smelled of hops. not bad for what it is.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with slob, thanks Bert!) I tend to like sweet and bready beers, and though this one has a bit of toasty malt and mild hop bitterness behind it too, it’s a pretty one-dimensional flavor profile. The nose is also sweet and bready, with little else going on. Medium bodied, but it needs more hops to break up the sweet breadiness and clean things out, so it’s pretty tiring on the palate. Clear, amber body is topped by an average off-white head: rises to half an inch, settles to a ring, leaves a bit of scattered lace. This is a pretty good beer that I enjoyed when I took my first few sips, but quickly got tired of the flavor. And it’s also really bready for an ESB.

a spicy malty aroma coming from a clear golden body. the taste was a nice smooth bitterness with a long lingering tail. the malts were a little more than i expected, and as a result the bitterness wasnt as pronounced, so i would consider this a more mild bitter than most.

Very light amber color. Malty aroma. No cleansing hops. Not what I would expect from an ESB and not what I wanted.

pours a copperish color with a small compact off-white head, the aroma is fruity and you can smell the english style hops, taste also has the presence of fruit, hoppy, semi-bitter, this is a good beer, not as bitter as a usual ESB, decent body, not to watery or thin. very drinkable.

Slightly amber pour. Smells of hops and fruits. Nice malty taste from fruit then it fades into hoppy ending. Nice beer from Flying Fish. Very smooth, I enjoyed it.

Copper colored body with a thin white head. Very nice blend of hoppy bitterness and sweet berries. Light, smooth and drinkable.
