Commercial Description:
This ESB is a classic British extra special bitter made fresh with an American slant. A beautiful copper color with an amber head, classic style features six different malts, including imported Belgian malts, and three hop varieties. The rich malty start features caramel notes that develop into a smooth, pleasurable hop finish.

Poured a clear reddish brown with a slight alcohol aroma. Taste was a bit hoppy with a slight alcohol burn. Some caramel and toffee near the end.

Clear amber body topped by a smallish beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, earthy/floral, some toffee/caramel. Taste is mild up front, before opening up into a very tasty mix of earthy, caramel, toffee, and floral. Light-medium body.

Big, white head. This is very well balanced, but the malt rather musty/earthy leaving a rather unpleasant finish.

Very Slight bitter aftertaste, but on the sweet side. Overall a very good brew. Was not expecting a brew made by a confectioner.

Copper color with a small head. Malty aroma. Not nearly as strong and bitter as most English ESBs. This is what they would call a "light bitter". Very good nonetheless, and a great choice for a session ale.

Pourd dark gold with a small white head and some lacing. Malty slightly citrusy hop aroma. Mildy bitter citrus, fairly smooth orange taste. A nice bitter.

flying fish is one of my favorite micro-brews. this beer looked good ....a nice copper/redish colored brew with a thin, weak head. when i tasted this beer i detected a distinct malty flavor with pretty good body. it finished pretty clean but needed more bitterness. was more of a straight amber in my view. this is a good beer but not flying fish's best!

Candy-red color with a thin head. Barest of mellow flavors. Lightly citric, sweet. I'd call this an average American amber, not a bitter.
