Bready nose with some great Fuggly funk, a bit of hot rubber, caramel, and stylish yeast. Very English! Toffee and light milk chocolate in with some berry. Orange-amber body, clear with a lot of carbonation and a soapy white head. Taste of caramel and toffee with a very dry, chalky yeasty finish. Fruitiness form the Flying Fish house character. No Fuggles, but getting a candyish note closer to apple cider than candi sugar. Some light hay and dry white grape. Nice and woody. Mid-bodied. Not bad! HoppityHop (105), New Jersey, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 25, 2008 Flying Fish markets this as an ESB/Amber Ale and as an ESB it doesn’t really make the mark, but as an Amber, it’s quite enjoyable. Tastes and smells malty (a Flying Fish trademark, it seems) and has almost no hop presence. Carbonation is slightly high, but the head and lacing were nearly non-existant, if you can believe that? I think this is a decent brew, but would much rather have their Hopfish, which tastes more like an ESB than an IPA. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Clear light amber body under a firm, creamy head of off-white.
Malty aroma.
Flavor is firm malt with well balanced supportive hops.
Good for style.

Semi sweet with I think apples. Hints of a clovish flavor. A tad thin and foamy. Nice clean and refreshing Naka (526), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 29, 2008 Pours a deep copper color with a light off-white foamy head. It is huge, about 3 fingers and lasts a very long time. Has a very mineral-y nose with some sour apples. Pretty sweet. The flavor has a nice spice to it. A little bit of a fruity yeast with some grainyness. A decent bitterness to it. The body is ok for an ESB, and I’m actually pleasantly surprised with this because I expected very little. Leaves a nice bitter on the tongue. guzzler67 (1282), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Bright bronze appearance with a small beige head and little lacing. Lightly toasted malt aroma with a faint whiff of cherries. Flowery hops impart some mild bitterness to balance the sweet malts. Medium-bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel. Dry, short lived finish.
