Light malt and hop aroma with some grapiness in there. The body is light, the texture is oily, and flat carbonation. The flavor’s duration is short, moderately acidic and bitter with a finish of vinegar.
I wasn’t terribly thrilled with this beer, but I’ve never been into ESBs (or have yet to find one I like). joshwilfong (789), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2008 The aroma is a bit fruity with a nice translucent amber color and a small head. This beer is nice and sweet with a classic bitter finish. A nice ESB! tjthresh (1778), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 21, 2008 12 ounce bottle from dmac. Pours a bit more golden than amber. Soapy white head. Malt driven aroma, though you need to look for it. There’s a touch of caramel and some yeasty aroma. The flavor is a little honey and biscuits, with some peach preserves. Tasty. Medium body. Average carbonation. Maybe a bit spritzy. A bit of a sweet finish, with a bitter edge. I don’t know. Instead of an ESB, I think they made a sub par pale ale. Heathen (810), Riverside, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 20, 2008 THOUGHTS: Kind of British. ESBs aren’t my favorite style, but this is a really nice beer. I didn’t really like this beer at first, but it grew on me, especially after having tried some good British ESBs. This wasn’t in that league, but it’s a nice American interpretation of a Brit ESB.
TECHNICAL: Christmas gift. Bottle. Poured a clear, light orange with a small, white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was moderate grain and caramel malt along with moderate herb and lemon citrus hops and light earthy yeast. The initial flavor was moderate sweetness and moderate to heavy acidity, while the finish was moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic and moderately bitter with an average duration. The flavor was caramel and grain malts then was lemony citrus hops and earthiness. The light to medium body was creamy yet watered down with fizzy carbonation and a lightly astringent finish. gws57 (1138), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Pours an orange amber with a small amount of head. Nose is extremely mild wood. Very little to it. Flavor is a woody bitter. Fairly prevalent tang on the tongue as well. Not really a complex beer, but certainly isn’t lacking. Feel has an attacking carbonation. Decent liquid feel. Overall it is drinkable, but not one to rush to the store for.
