| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 12, 2007 This mediocre brew has a medium amber hue with a diminishing white head. It has a medium body with a decent balance of hops and hints of carmel to go with a malt finish. Average, nothing Extra Special and might make youbitter special. I’ll take a Dogfish over a Flying Fish any day. keepersj12 (811), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 22, 2007 Mine was from a bottle. It had a nice creamy head that laced my glass nicely. It does have a bready aroma. Very nice smooth beer. MrBendo (1044), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 14, 2007 Bottle. Clear orange color with a large head. Not a lot of head retention, and spare lacing. Aroma is bread, caramel malt, and just a little grassy hops. Strong malt and a LITTLE bitter flavor. Not bad tasting, but not really enough bitterness anywhere in the taste to be an ESB. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 18, 2007 Pours deep amber with a thin tan head. No lacing to speak of. Smells lightly fruity and bready. Faint citrusy hops.
Taste is again very biscuity malt and light spicy fruit backed by a more herbal hops profile but still with hints of citrus hops too. Hops dominate the finish and the aftertaste. Mouth is medium bodied with an herbal hop aftertaste. Decent enough but something that I can’t put my finger on keeps it from being great. Best I can figure is that it’s the malt and hops don’t quite compliment each other. Kind of American style hops with a British style malt. swoopjones (1920), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 1, 2007 Bottle from Ty I think. Had more of a bitternote than the malt profile in the Desc. Not a bad brew, had to dig deep to get the malt flavors. This probably was my least fav from this brewery.
I normally enjoy their beers. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 11, 2006 Pours copper with small off-white head. Aroma is light, with some roasted malts, bread, and earthy hops. Fairly large malt profile with roasted barley and caramel, with nice balancing earthy/nutty hops towards the finish, and a bit of hop spiciness. Palate is medium, soft, and a bit resiny. Hops are more floral and bitter in the finish, and the malts back off a bit,. Not the best ESB I’ve had, but nicely balnced and easy going down. GuilTTy (538), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 4, 2006 Clear light copper pour under a thin light tan head. Aroma of roasted nuts and bread with a hint of citrus. Decidedly malty flavor but reasonably well balanced with enough hops to keep the sweetness in line. Not a whole lot going on otherwise. Thin texture in relation to traditional British ESBs. Nothing special here.
