Commercial Description:
You are holding the inaugural release in a multi-year brewing experiment-to brew a series of beers as diverse as the great state of New Jersey. Our theme is the state-long artery that connects us. Each beer will focus on the unique aspect of an individual exit, whether an ingredient or event. The journey begins at Exit 4- right up the street from the Flying Fish brewery. As one of the first craft brewers to embrace Belgian-style beers, we’ve chosen to start with a Belgian trippel, finished with plenty of American hops. Note the hazy golden hue and the aroma of citrus with hints of banana and clove. Then taste the Belgian malt flavors and a subdued bitterness in the finish. Bottle conditioned, this beer will develop as it ages. Enjoy.

Sampled at Lithy’s Septemberfest Tasting. Clear golden pour with quick fading near white head. Nose is slightly funky, like a sweaty tshirt, and candi sugar. Flavor is also funky, and sweet but with a bitter wheaty quality. Obvious yeasty finish. Don’t really care for this at all.

Bottle. Pours murky golden with a powerful head. Aroma is of citrus and small hints of spice. Flavor is mild, yet satisfying, with a medium body and a sturdy finish. A hometown legend’s tribute to the greatness of New Jersey and beer.

Bottle Pours a hazy golden with a big white head. The head is frothy and last well. The lacing is lacking for such a nice head. Has a nice sweet aroma of citrus, coriander and fruits. Has a decent carbonation. The flavor is on the lighter side but good. Good blending. Decent spicies and a good sweetness. Has a light to medium body. The texture is good and not to dry. A solid finish with a good aftertaste.

750ml bottle. This brew poured a hazy pale peach color with a 2 finger thick off white head leaving some spotty lacing. Lots of citrus, banana, coriander, peaches and other flash fruits on the nose. Some white pepper, citrus and an underlying funk on the palate, pretty tasty Tripel.

750ml from Capone’s, Norristown, PA. Big pour, somewhat cloudy amber with bright carbonation and a medium head. Notes of apple cider and crisp citrus in the nose. The mouthfeel is medium, with the fizz dying down a bit too quickly. Light malt and bready character in the flavors, providing a bit of balance. But what starts out like an intriguingly fruity variation on an American tripel devolves a bit too quickly to linger in the memory.
