Commercial Description:
An original American pale ale, our XPA highlights the subtle, sophisticated flavors and aromas of our Midwestern two-row malt and imported aromatic and Munich malts. Washington-grown Mt. Hood and Fuggles hops create an extremely balanced beer with a beautiful straw color.

Appearance: murky pale orange in color, floaties about in the body, with a big, fizzy, white head that settles into a tight ring. Large aromatics, fresh and fruity, vibrant with citrus and hops. Large hoppiness continues on the palate, booming, but briefly, before mellowing back. Interesting flavor, but I like it...yeast, hops, fruit, yum, ..light in the malt, though...lacks in the balance department, though the fullness of flavor makes me forgive it that.

Sparkling clear, yellow ale with a small, white, fizzy head. Weak aroma, but I do detect faint notes of butterscotch, English toffee and straw. The flavor is a bit watery and thin, but does have a smooth, silky mouthfeel with some mild, citrus notes. Buttery. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. The finish is short and moderately bitter.

This stuff tased like it should have been extra bitter. Pale has nothing in appearance as it looked like Yuengling lager with a Chocolate milk looking head. Unfortunately it didn’t taste as good as either.

Mild cabbage (DMS), fairly bland aroma. Clear golden orange-yellow with line of small bubbled white that recedes to ring. Mildly fruity flavour with little offsetting bitterness. Medium-light body. Bottle (sampled at Mondial 2004).

Bottle. Amber body with not much hops showing up in the aroma or flavour. Pretty average unexciting pale ale. I had hoped for better from Flying Fish. Mondial 3T (Me).

Pours dark straw. Aroma of hops and some citrus. Tastes hoppy, with citrus and a bitter aftertaste.
