Commercial Description:
An original American pale ale, our XPA highlights the subtle, sophisticated flavors and aromas of our Midwestern two-row malt and imported aromatic and Munich malts. Washington-grown Mt. Hood and Fuggles hops create an extremely balanced beer with a beautiful straw color.

Cask, advertised as "XPA with Cascade". Poured a cloudy gold color with no head or lacing. Very mild citrus hop and sweet, malty aroma. No bitterness with just a hint of citrus in the taste. Bland apple juice, and iced tea (possibly some heather flowers?) and a slightly bitter finish. Not very impressing, the Cascades certainly helped here, the regular XPA must be shit.

Coloring was a pale yellow orange. Aroma had some spice and malts. Taste had a little spice and some minor hops with some burn on the tongue and some citrus in the aftertaste. Drinkable but seemed a bit weak.

OK, but I expected more. Seemed more sweet than hoppy to me. Would probably make a good lawnmower beer.

Clear apple juice body with medium white head. Aroma is faint, apple, pine, fresh-baked bread. Taste is medium sweet, apple, tart, finishing very mildly earthy bitter. Light body.

Light gold in color. Quickly disappearing head. Barely any aroma. Tastes crisp and light with a slight sweetness. Flavor is weak but not watery. Not the best Flying Fish.

Yellow, pilsner-like body color. Head starts big with fizzy white bubbles, then dies down to about 1/8 inch. Smells lightly of pine hops and not much else. Not as much hop taste as anticipated. Actually, it is mainly peachy sweet with some cherries and a small amount of lemony hops to balance the taste. Overall, a pretty weak, mild flavor with lots of carbonation... soda-like.

Clear golden in color. Very clean aroma. Nice hoppy pale ale but well balanced by the malt.. Really enjoyable brew.

Clear golden in color, not much head. Aroma is clean with a slight fruity hop. Flavor is hoppy, balanced nicely with a nice carmel malt flavor that comes in from around the corner. Nice and drinkable, and flavorful enough to keep me satisfied.
