Birdiebeagle (778), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2006 Bottle Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Head is a touch foamy. Has a good hoppy aroma. Taste is very good but on the lighter side of the line. A very refreshing summer beer. Good carbination and a solid flavor with just enough finish to remind you that its a real beer and not just cold swill. I enjoyed many of these at the beach this year. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 9, 2006 There was some sort of unsavory flavor in this supporting a light mild hop. It was clear stuff. not really categorizable, just a kinda typical light ale thats wasn’t a chore to drink but offered little and i’d be very hesitant to session on. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jul 7, 2006 I thought this was going to be a saison...Pours a clear light golden, straw color. Aroma and taste are both very slightly tart citrus and lemon, light malts...watery finish.... doubleipa (224), Georgia, USA Jun 28, 2006 Had this on tap at Antone’s. It was served in a shaker pint glass. Kind of ruins the affect. Since the name says Farmhouse, I had expected a typical saison. I didn;t get it. Not much in the way of a typical saison aroma - not much yeast, or grass, or spiceness. I read one review that called in a blond ale. Kind of a plain beer. Not a good example of a saison, but it is a beer one could drink during a summer afternoon. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 23, 2006 Hary yellow in color. Smells slghtly spicy. Tastes spicy with good dry finish. Good hot weather beer. Holdwine (905), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Jun 23, 2006 Certainly drinkable. Not a lot going on. I like the mild spicy touch (pepper, clove?) that shows up after a decent malt introduction. Only decent beer I could find in Southern NJ, except for that Sierra Neveda.... eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 5, 2006 Just didn’t do much for me, and I have no idea why I returned to FF. Poured pretty dark color for a "farmhouse ale," and had nothing farmhouse-like about it. Just another amber ale with a mild showing in the hop category, somewhat like an ESB. Carmel malts dominated, but it had a slightly bitter punch at the end. I think they missed the mark entirely on this style. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA May 30, 2006 12oz bottle, at my cousin’s wedding. color is golden straw, just a little cloudy. white short thick foamy head. aroma is a little appleish, malty sweet and a little grainy. light yeast too. flavor is a llttle witty - some sweet wheat malt and a bit of bubblegum, then light yeast and faint spice. kind of bready finish. nice to celebrate a wedding on the second very hot and humid day of the year!
