Nice sweet aroma with hints of grass, mushrooms, hops and yeast. Light-bodied; Sweet taste with some mustyness and yeast characteristics. Aftertaste clean and mild, not much else! Overall, not too great, lacking in many qualities and below expectation. I bought this twelve ounce bottle from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. and sampled it on 19-December-2003. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2005 Bottle: Vibrant yellow, clear, small to medium white fizzy head, spotty lacing, moderate carbonation. Soft spiced grassy nose, not getting much floral aspect at all. Lightly spiced, malty, but otherwise more like a spicy full-bodied Pilsner than a Saison. Decent body, mediocre mouthfeel. Slightly dry finish. Drinkable, but not terribley interesting. Thanks for the freebie Jeff!

Poured pretty dark color for a "farmhouse ale," and had nothing farmhouse-like about it. Just another amber ale with a mild showing in the hop category, somewhat like an ESB. Carmel malts dominated, but it had a slightly bitter punch at the end. I think they missed the mark entirely on this style.
