Commercial Description:
This strong golden ale showcases a variety of the ingredients and brewing methods that help differentiate Flying Fish beers. The Grand Cru is fermented at a higher temperature than our other beers adding an undercurrent of fruitiness (although there is no fruit in the beer). Very lightly filtered, the Grand Cru exhibits complex mouthfeel, strong malt flavors, a spicy hop presence and a soothing alcohol warmth, followed by a clean, dry finish. Bottle conditioned, it is excellent with food as well as served by itself.

Pretty good Belgian ale. Good flavor, kinda bready, doesn’t taste too strong. Well balanced.

Clear sparkling gold, thin fizzy white head. Nose was nice with hints of coriander, dried citrus fruit (orange and lemon peel), with lighter notes of banana and cotton candy. Flavor was basically a cross between a Belgian tripel & blond ale, with coriander and light citrus up front, soft candy sugar sweetness throughout, and a light hop bitterness to round this off. Medium bodied and slick, light carbonation, bittersweet, drying finish. Not really my favorite style, but decent none the less...

Served in a pint glass at the Northstar Bar in Philadelphia. Pours a translucent golden yellow with no head. Aroma is very light, maybe some slight fruitiness. Apples and just a general overall sweetness in the taste as well as some various Belgian spices. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that the Northstar Bar needs to clean their lines a little bit more/better, or this isn’t too great of a beer. Either way this one was a little dissapointing. Will have to try again from a bottle or a bar that cares a little bit more about the quality of the beer they sell.

Poured light golden with a creamy white head. A bit foamy. Aroma was candy fruits and cinnamon. Some vanilla as well. Quite tasty just not too exciting. There were certainly Saison characteristics in this one.

Clear straw color with a good white head and creamy lacing. Sweet honey nose with hints of malt and spice. Fruits and spice in the flavor with yeasty cookie dough notes and a slight bitterness at the end. Medium body and creamy texture. Nice beer.

12 oz. bottle shared with Humolone Red. Gold color with small head & little lacing. It is clear. The aroma is yeasty with some sweetness. The flavor has some spiciness (just from the yeast) and some alcohol. It is very drinkable. Good beer.
